Once an assignment has been confirmed, you are entering into a contract between you (the Client) and the Tutor. Tutorbox acts as agent on behalf of the Client and the Tutor. Tutorbox is only responsible for matching the Client and the Tutor and is not responsible for the content of lessons and the teaching methods.
Fees and Payment
We accept payments by credit card, debit card and childcare vouchers.
The billing process is managed directly by Tutorbox, who shall send an invoice as soon as the Assignment has been confirmed with the Client by a booking confirmation. Payments must be made in full in advance to Tutorbox before the first session starts. Payments must not be made directly to the Tutor at any time.
Tutorbox reserves the right to charge a fee of £10.00 for late payment and/or interest on any overdue amount at 7.5% above the bank base rate.
The client must agree to any extra expenses before any tuition takes place. This might be travel expenses and schoolbooks.
The Client is not permitted to make private arrangements for tuition with a Tutor introduced by Tutorbox. Should a Client breach this obligation, they will be liable to account to Tutorbox for all sums paid to the Tutor without deduction and Tutorbox shall be entitled to obtain an injunction against a Client to prevent further breaches. This obligation shall continue notwithstanding termination of this agreement.
Tutorbox does not accept any liability for any claims by the Client arising out of or related to the carrying out of the tutoring by a Tutor introduced by Tutorbox.
Both the Client and the Tutor must notify the other in advance of any holiday commitments they may have; and any changes to the tuition timetable necessary because of illness. An alternative date will be arranged. Tutorbox operates a 24-hour notice policy and reserves the right to charge the Client in full if a lesson is cancelled at short notice. Cancellations without due notice will be fully chargeable.
There will be no credits or cash refunds for block booking cancellations where a Client has pre-paid for a minimum of ten hourly tutorials.
One calendar month’s written notice is required to permanently cancel a session where you have booked on an ongoing basis on a ‘pay as you go’ basis. This notice may be provided as an email or by letter.
Tuition Stopped by A Tutor
If a Tutor, for any reason, has to stop tuition, Tutorbox will endeavour to replace that Tutor as soon as possible, subject to availability.
Tutorbox reserves the right to alter these Terms and Conditions.
Acceptance of our services will be taken to represent agreement to these Terms and Conditions.
The Client is responsible for finding and agreeing on a suitable environment in which tuition can take place.
Tutorbox is registered under the Data Protection Act to hold and use client data for the purposes of the services that it provides. Clients providing personal data to Tutorbox are consenting to the use of that data by Tutorbox for the purpose of effecting introductions to Tutors, for billing and fee collecting purposes and to enable Tutorbox to contact the client.
